Zinc-aluminium layering

Optimal metallisation with zinc-aluminium

Aggressive conditions - such as a sea climate or in the petro-chemical industry - call for an efficient means of protection against rust and corrosion. And that is exactly what metallisation provides with the help of a layer of zinc and aluminium. Thanks to the zinc base, your steel constructions stay protected, even if the covering layer of paint is damaged.

Cathodic protection with aluminium

Protect your steel for life! All you need is metallisation with aluminium, available from the experts at Buijsse. They adjust the thickness of the layer to meet the needs of the environment. The result? Cathodic protection. Your quality guarantee? Our AVIMET Certificate, awarded by Vinçotte, and our membership with the Federation of Metallists (Federatie van Metalliseurs).

What is cathodic protection?

When a layer of aluminium is sprayed on, it is porous. But aluminium-oxide products, created by exposing the aluminium layer to the atmospheric air, do not have these pores. The benefits? The steel under the aluminium-oxide layer is completely protected from the influence of the elements. This is called Cathodic Protection. And if the protective layer is damaged? The aluminium sacrifices itself as a ‘Metal Martyr' in favour of the steel underneath (at the rate of mere microns per year). Ask for more information about our expertise in cathodic protection.
